The Red Flash, led by Head Coach
Chris Villarrial, looks to bounce back after a 5-6 season last year, including a 3-3 record in NEC play. It was SFU's sixth straight season above .500 in the conference. The Red Flash's five wins included a 13-7 victory at No. 22 Liberty, who was in its FBS-transition year. It was SFU's second win over a ranked opponent in program history. SFU landed nine players on the All-NEC teams, with five players returning to the team for the 2018 season.Â

SPRING GAME DRAFT
This year's squad was split up into two teams through a draft. One team was drafted by former quarterback
Zack Drayer (Hershey, Pa./Hershey), with the other being selected by former cornerback
Malik Duncan (Cleveland, Ohio/Cleveland Central Catholic).Â

The Red Flash returns nine starters on offense, including three All-NEC selections.Â

Quarterback
Bear Fenimore (Austin, Texas/Westwood) returns after starting 10 games last season. He completed 57 percent of his passes for 1,893 yards and 14 touchdowns. The Houston transfer had three performances with over 280 yards passing. Senior
Tyler Magaha (Frederick, Md./Gov. Thomas Jefferson) also returns at quarterback and
Jason Brown (Fredericksburg, Va./Chancellor) enters the mix after sitting out last season with an injury. Brown threw for over 6,000 yards and ran for over 1,800 at Chancellor High School.

Saint Francis returns three running backs from last year's squad and welcomes back
Marcus Bagley (Cleveland Heights, Ohio/Cleveland Heights), who returns after an injury. Bagley was a First Team All-NEC selection in 2016 with 891 yards. Senior
Jymere Jordan-Toney (Philadelphia, Pa./Franklin) rushed for 561 yards and three touchdowns in seven games before his season was cut short due to injury. Junior
Avery Miliner (Clayton, Ohio/Northmont) ran for 247 yards and three touchdowns in seven games last year. Sophomore
Joel Denley (Beaumont, Texas/West Brook) showed off his impressive speed with 225 yards and 26 carries. Redshirt freshmen
Kei-Shon Graham (Philadelphia, Pa./Central) and
Syaire Madden (Wyndmoor, Pa./LaSalle College Prep) join the rotation this year. Graham ran for 1,200 yards and 20 touchdowns as a senior at Central High School, while Madden was a First Team All-State selection after running for 1,500 yards as a senior at LaSalle College Prep. At fullback, sophomore
Kobe Pinkney (Alexandria, Va./St. Stephen's & St. Agnes) returns after rushing for 41 yards last year. Sophomore
Sean Davis (Bethel Park, Pa./Bethel Park) will split time at fullback and tight end after making four starts in 2017.

Kamron Lewis (Fresno, Calif./Edison) leads the returners at receiver. He caught 65 passes for 909 yards and six touchdowns last year as a Walter Payton Award candidate. Lewis ranked 14th in the FCS in receptions per game (6.5) and 19th in receiving yards per game (90.9). Junior
Cyrus Holder (Uniondale, N.Y./Milford Academy) has 283 yards and two touchdowns, while sophomore
Ra'Shaun Henry (Copperas Cove, Texas/Copperas Cove) caught 11 passes for 134 yards. Senior
Tim Davis (Ebensburg, Pa./Central Cambria) and
Zach Campbell (Upper Marlboro, Md./Riverdale Baptist) appeared in four and two games, respectively, last year. Redshirt freshmen
Carlos Artson (Baltimore, Md./Archbishop Curley),
Cortez Jackson (Upper Marlboro, Md./Riverdale Baptist),
EJ Jenkins (Fredericksburg, Va./Chancellor),
Brandan Lisenby (Alexandria, Va./West Potomac) and
Chancellor Little (Altoona, Pa./Bishop Guilfoyle). Jenkins had over 4,300 receiving yards at Chancellor and Lisenby had 1,067 yards as a senior at West Potomac.Â
Terell Johnson (Burlington, N.C./Cummings) started five games at tight end last season, catching seven passes, including two touchdowns.Â
Jahsim Floyd (Sayreville, N.J./Sayreville War Memorial) and
Justin McIntyre (Grantville, Pa./Lower Dauphin) join the mix after redshirting last year.

Mike Ames (Pittsburgh, Pa./Penn Hills) return after earning Second Team All-NEC honors. Senior tackle
Evan Ferguson (Sterling, Va./Dominion), senior guard Isaac Jackson Jr. and sophomore
Anthony Barber (Johnstown, Pa./Greater Johnstown) all return after starting all 11 games in 2017. Junior
Christian Eubanks (Reynoldsburg, Ohio/Reynoldsburg) returns after missing last season with an injury. Eubanks has made 20 career starts and was a Second Team All-NEC pick as a freshman. Junior
Alec Shriner (Oviedo, Fla./Oviedo) will provide a boost to the line after transferring from West Virginia. Redshirt sophomore

DEFENSE PREVIEW
SFU had another dominant year on defense, ranking among the Top 10 in the FCS in scoring defense (fifth), total defense (10th), pass defense (sixth), pass efficiency defense (third), red zone defense (fourth) and defensive touchdowns (seventh). The Red Flash forced 25 turnovers, including 14 interceptions.

The Red Flash will look to find some new playmakers on the defensive line. Senior
Louie Gartner (Bloomfield, N.J./Paramus Catholic) returns after starting nine games and scored two defensive touchdowns on his way to being a Piesman Trophy finalist. Junior
Jake Beistel (Alverton, Pa./Southmoreland) started three games at nose tackle in 2017, with 17 tackles. Sophomore
Todd Burger (Freehold, N.J./Freehold Boro), sophomore
Sam Cummings (Verona, N.J./Verona) and senior
Ricardo Johnson (Baltimore, Md./Archbishop Curley) all made at least one appearance last season.Â
Mason Baker (Laurel, Md./Reservoir),
Kane Piroch (New Kensington, Pa./Valley) and
James Watkins (Oxon Hill, Md./Oxon Hill) all join the defensive line rotation after redshirting.

Sean Orsini (Imperial, Pa./West Allegheny) led the squad with 84 tackles last season. Fellow inside linebacker and senior
Ben Bruni (Pittsburgh, Pa./Mt. Lebanon) tallied 67 tackles. Junior
Da'Jon Lee (Fairfax, Va./Robinson) had 49 tackles, including eight for loss, on the outside. Juniors
Gibbs Tinne (Burtonsville, Md./Paint Branch) and
Calvin Beaty (Holmdel, N.J./St. John-Vianney) had 23 and 16 tackles, respectively, while senior
Trysten Hunt (Levittown, Pa./Truman) appeared in nine games. Sophomore
Jake Curry (Freehold, N.J./Freehold Boro) appeared in four games last season, while senior
Marcus Galie (Upper St. Clair, Pa./Upper St. Clair) played in three.Â

The Red Flash returns a pair of starting safeties to lead the secondary. Senior
Hakeem Kinard (York, Pa./York Catholic) was second on the team last season with 73 tackles and 6.5 tackles for loss. Junior
Nick Rinella (Collegeville, Pa./La Salle College) made 51 stops and intercepted three passes.Â
Jermaine Ponder (Rochester, N.Y./Bishop Kearney) and
Jarren Williams (Lewis Center, Ohio/Olentangy) take over at cornerback after providing solid depth last season. Williams had 15 tackles and four pass breakups, while Ponder appeared in all 11 games.  Martin Foray Jr. made 11 appearances, making seven stops.Â
Maurice Hubbard (Galloway, N.J./Absegami) played in two games and
T.J. Orrico (Englishtown, N.J./Manalapan) made one appearance. Sophomore
Jake Heiple (Somerset, Pa./Somerset) returns after sitting out last season with an injury, while senior
Dennis James (Jersey City, N.J./St. Peter's Prep) makes the transition from receiver. Senior

Andrew Zecca (Berkeley Heights, N.J./Gov. Livingston) returns after earning First Team All-NEC after leading the conference with a 39.9 punting average. He hit six punts over 50 yards, including a long of 68. Kicker
Eric Bofenkamp (Warren, Ohio/John F. Kennedy) made 10-of-19 field goal attempts, with a long of 44, and 29-of-30 PAT attempts. Long snapper
Tanner Schmidt (Maple Lake, Minn./Maple Lake) appeared in all 11 games last season, while redshirt freshman kicker
Chris Miller (Johnstown, Pa./Bishop McCort) and punter

Rinella returns after handling kick return and punt return duties last year. Rinella averaged 27.4 yards per kick return and 12.4 yards per punt return, including a touchdown against Robert Morris.
