Loudonville, NY – The Saint Francis University Swimming team came out on top today when they took on Siena in their pool. The Flash tallied 147 points to win the meet, while Siena tallied 75. Notable performances by a few Red Flash put them on top for a strong finish before their next outing at NEC's on February 19
th.

In the 200-medley relay, SFU took first in a time of 1:50.47 from the team of junior
Urska Medvesek (Maribor, Slovenia/Gymnasium Maribor), senior
Erin O'Neill (Lansdale, Pa./North Penn), sophomore
Annabelle McCullough (Mercersburg, PA./James Buchanan High School), and junior
Katelyn O'Connor (Torrance, Calif./South High).
In the 1650-yard freestyle SFU swept the standings. Freshman
Shauna Abair (Lantana, Fl/Home School) took the first-place finish in a time of 18:03.77.
SFU as well swept the 50-yard freestyle with McCullough taking first in 24.09 followed by O'Neill in second with a time of 25.18 and O'Connor in third in a time of 25.42.
Taking first in the 200-yard IM, senior standout
Sabrina Bowman (Vandergrift, Pa./Saint Joseph's) finished in a time of 2:08.23 with fellow senior
Karilyn Quon (Tempe, Ariz./Corona del Sol) right behind her in second in a time of 2:11.72. Bowman notches herself at first for fastest time in Siena's pool for this event.
McCullough took the 100-yard butterfly with a first-place finish in a time of 57.40. This broke the record at Siena for the fastest time swam there as well.
Bowman took the lead in the 100-yard freestyle claiming first in a time of 53.59.
Another sweep by SFU came during the 100-yard backstroke where Medvesek took first, sophomore
Amelia Laudenbach (Kambah, Australia/Trinity Christian School) took second and junior
Jessica Rupp (Cincinnati, Ohio/Turpin) took third.
Quon took the top place finish in the 500-yard freestlye in a time of 5:19.22.
Senior
Erin O'Neill (Lansdale, Pa./North Penn) came out on top with freshman
Krysta Weik (Lebanon, Pa/Cedar Crest) right behind her in second in the the 100-yard breaststroke with times of 1:07.83 and 1:08.00.
In the last event of the day, SFU took a first-place finish in the 200-yard freestyle by a trio of seniors
Kristen Toth (Silver Spring, Md./St. Vincent Pallotti), Quon, and Bowman and sophomore
Julia Bradford (Edinboro, Pa./Villa Maria Academy) in a time of 1:40.44 to secure the win for the Red Flash.
The Red Flash finish strong and look towards NEC championship's Wednesday February 19
th till Saturday February 22
