GENEVA, Oh. -Â The Saint Francis Red Flash Swimming team had four swimmers who all had career-best times in either the prelims or finals during the races on Thursday. Swimmers such as
Chloe Clemens,
Aurem Pifarre-Planes,
Lizzie Smeltzer,
Amalia Bradburn and fifth-year swimmer
Jessica Rupp all had great days in the pool to help the Red Flash accumulate more points heading into a pivotal final two days of the NEC Championships.
HOW IT HAPPENED

Jessica Rupp finished the prelims strong with a career-best time of 56.20 in the 100-yard butterfly. This time put her in the A final where she ultimately finished 7th in the race.

Chloe Clemens had two strong performances that boasted career highs in the prelim 100-yard butterfly and the consolation 100-yard butterfly final with times of 57.81 and 57.65 respectively.

Aurem Pifarre-Planes had yet another strong day in the pool this time with a career-best time in the 200-yard freestyle consolation final with a solid time of 1:52.86.

Lizzie Smeltzer had a career-best time in the prelim 400-yard IM finishing with a time of 4:38.

Amalia Bradburn also had a good performance in the pool posting a season-high in the 200-yard consolation final with a strong time of 1:55.71.

Saint Francis will head back into the pool on Friday as the events include the backstroke, breaststroke, butterfly, and medley relay races. These will now be the final two days of the NEC Championships after the team has been competing since Tuesday morning.Â
