SOMERSET, N.J. – Aurem Pifarre and Sara Turner are starting their 2023-24 seasons on a high note, both earning Northeast Conference Prime Performer.
Pifarre and Turner took multiple top-three finishes at this weekend's Colgate Invite, helping the Red Flash take third in the meet.
In the 1650-yard freestyle, Pifarre placed second with a time of 18:07.86, just three seconds shy of the top spot. She also took third in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:57.63.
In the 500-yard freestyle, Pifarre was awarded second in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:12.29.
To conclude her performance in the meet, she was part of the 400-yard freestyle relay that placed fourth, clocking in at 3:38.93.
Turner had multiple top finishes of her own in the Colgate Invite.
In the 400-yard individual medley, Turner placed fourth, clocking in at 4:41.61. With a time of 2:09.35, she took second in the 200-yard butterfly.
In the 200-yard breaststroke, Turner placed third in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:29.74, just .12 shy of second. In the 100-yard butterfly, she took fifth, clocking in at 1:00.87.
In her final event at the meet, Turner was part of the 400-yard freestyle relay that placed 11th with a time of 3:53.79.
The Red Flash will compete on the road on October 21, taking on Millersville at Anttonen Natatorium at 1 p.m.
