2025 Schedule
LORETTO, Pa. – Saint Francis University women's lacrosse head coach Morgan Gott has announced her inaugural schedule. The 2025 slate features eight games at DeGol Field and the first-ever meetings against Lindenwood, UNC Charlotte, and Mercyhurst.
"Our out-of-conference schedule is going to be very competitive," said Gott, who enters her first season at the helm. "Every game will be a fight to win, and ultimately, it will prepare us for our conference. With games like Lindenwood and UNC Charlotte, we will be tested in all areas of the game. The team is ready for the challenge and excited to play some high-level teams."
The Red Flash opens its 24th season in program history at Akron on February 11. It will be the second time the Zips will be the season opener after the two teams opened the 2021 season in Loretto. Saint Francis leads the series 3-1 and has won the last two tilts.
The Red Flash opens on the road for the second straight year and the 15th time in program history. It will be the second time the team has opened a season in the Buckeye State after opening the 2022 campaign at Youngstown State.
Speaking of Youngstown State, the Penguins will make their first trip to DeGol Field for the Red Flash home opener on February 15. Youngstown State won the initial meeting in 2022.
The team will head back toward Ohio for its second road game when it travels to Duquesne on February 22. Former Saint Francis head coach Tracy Coyne is in her first season as the Dukes head coach, and it will be the seventh meeting in the series and the first since the 2015 campaign.
Lindenwood makes its first appearance on the schedule and in Loretto on February 26. The Red Flash are 4-4 against teams currently associated with the Atlantic Sun and will be the first match against the conference since 2023 against Stetson.
The squad then hits the road for a season-long three-game road trip at UNC Charlotte (March 4), Kent State (March 7), and the start of Northeast Conference play at CCSU (March 15). It will be the inaugural season for UNC Charlotte and the sixth battle against Kent State. The Red Flash leads the match-up against the Golden Flashes, 3-2, but the two teams have split the last four regular-season meetings, with the road team winning each time.
Saint Francis returns to Loretto for a five-game homestand that will see Wagner (March 22), Mercyhurst (March 26), Stonehill (March 29), FDU (April 5), and Central Michigan (April 7) come to town in 16 days. The first four games in the homestand are league games, including the first-ever game against Mercyhurst, who joined the NEC in 2024-25. The match against Central Michigan will be the season's final non-conference game and the third meeting against the Chippewas.Â
The five straight games at home ties the most consecutive games in program history. The 2009 team also played five straight games at home, while it will be the eighth time the team has had a four or more-game homestand, joining the 2005, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, and 2019 teams.
The team will wrap up the regular season with three of its final four homes on the road, starting in the nation's capital against Howard on April 9.Â
Saint Francis will play its final home game, salute its seniors for Senior Day on April 12 against Delaware State, and then return to the road at LIU (April 19) and Le Moyne (April 26) to wrap up the regular season.
After six teams advancing to the NEC Tournament in 2024, the league returns to the traditional four-team tournament in 2025 at the home of the NEC regular-season champion. The Red Flash looks to advance to the postseason for the third consecutive season in 2025.
