LORETTO, Pa. – John Krimmel has announced his resignation as the Senior Associate Director of Athletics for Student-Athlete and Leadership Development to become the Director of Athletics at NCAA Division III Neumann University.

There is no question that John will be missed tremendously, but we wish him nothing but the best in his new professional endeavor."Â

Krimmel has been with his alma mater for the last 18 years including the last 15 with the athletic department. After working as a marketing manager for one year at General Healthcare Resources after graduating, he returned to Loretto as an assistant director of admissions/athletic liaison from 2006-09.

The former four-year letterwinner on the men's basketball team came to athletics in 2009 and spent the next 15 years serving the student-athletes academic needs. His title went from Associate Director of Athletics for Student-Athlete Academic Services (2009-17) to Associate Director of Athletics for Student-Athlete and Leadership Development (2017-21) to Senior Associate Director of Athletics for Student-Athlete and Leadership Development (2021-present).

Along with assisting with the student-athlete's work in the classroom, Krimmel has spearheaded the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC), Student-Athlete Mentors (SAMs), APPLE Leadership Team (ALT), and Faculty Athletics Mentor (FAM) programs. Saint Francis has won the Northeast Conference's (NEC) Building Communites Award four times in the last seven years, the NEC Canned Food Drive three-straight years and five times overall and has won the NEC Money Wars for six-straight years.
