>> Saint Francis women's soccer fell to Howard 5-0 in Washington D.C., for the final NEC road test for the Red Flash Thursday.
TURNING POINT OF THE GAME
Saint Francis and Howard matched up for Thursday NEC action at Greene Stadium under the lights. Saint Francis came out from the first whistle very aggressive offensively putting the pressure on Howard's entire starting lineup. The first half was silent between teams finishing in a 0-0 draw.
Saint Francis' defense worked hard again for the first 20 minutes of the second half. With a few Red Flash faults, Howard capitalized and put the pressure right onto the defense of Saint Francis. In the span of 12 minutes, the Bison capitalized and put three into the back of the net. The Bison offense didn't let up from there, scoring two more on Saint Francis' goal. Overall the Red Flash were outshot 26-4, and 16-2 in the second half.Â
Emma Sawich made a huge save when a handball was called in the box against the Red Flash and a penalty kick was given to Howard at the 75-minute mark.Â
FLASH MOMENTSÂ
Lucia Johnson had a scoring opportunity at 7:02, but missed just high of the goal.
Maridza Desir sent one high and center towards the goal at at 41:27, but it was saved by the Bison's goalkeeper.
At 55:52 and 56:55, Riley Kerr had two chances where one missed high and the other was saved by Howard's keeper.
FLASH NUGGETS
Emma Sawich had seven saves between the posts for the Red Flash. Sawich had a huge save on a penalty kick after there was a Red Flash handball call in the box.

Saint Francis will wrap up its season at home with its final NEC matchup against Le Moyne. The Red Flash will also be celebrating its seniors Maridza Desir, Emma Sawich, Raine Korpics, and Lauren Persichetty. Kickoff is at 1 p.m.
