>> Saint Francis track & field will compete at the Northeast Conference (NEC) Outdoor Track & Field Championships hosted by Stonehill College in Easton, Ma. May 3-4. It will be held at W.B. Mason Stadium.
>> The women's 10,000-meter run will kick off the events on the 3rd at 8:45 a.m. On the fourth, women's javelin will start the day at 9:30 a.m.
>> Sixty-three athletes (34 men, 29 women) will participate in the Championships.

LAST TIME OUT
The Red Flash concluded their regular season by hosting the Red Flash Open on April 26. In total, the teams combined for seven first place finishes and 22 top-3 placements.
Clark Gulycz claimed his fourth NEC Prime Performer after coming in first in the men's shot put with a personal and NEC-best mark of 16.90m. The freshman also claimed 11th in discus with another personal best of 36.50m.
Julian Saunders (10.74) and
Olivia Renk (12.49) finished first in their respective 100-meter dashes. Renk also claimed the top spot in the women's 200-meter dash with a time of 25.00.
In the men's and women's hammer throw,
Vincent Franco (50.59m) and
Carly Sedun (46.21m) achieved a first place finish.
Rounding out the first place finishes was
Tyler Craft collecting first in the men's triple jump with a leap of 14.61m.
RED FLASH AT NEC CHAMPIONSHIPS HISTORY
The men's team will look to claim their third NEC title overall and their first since the 2019 outdoor season. On the women's side, they'll be looking for their sixth championship and their first since three-peating from 2021-23.
At the 2024 Championships, the women's team placed fourth out of nine teams with 112 points. The men took fifth with 62 points.
Sedun took home the NEC Women's Most Outstanding Performer in throws after finishing first in the women's hammer throw (52.21m) and second in discus (40.67m).
Marlena Jacobs in women's pole vault with a clearance of 3.60m, and
David Niang in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 14.43 were the other two athletes that claimed gold for their performances.
Along with the gold medalists, the teams combined for five more podium finishes.
Saunders claimed silver in the 100-meter dash with a time of 10.57.
Cam Wagner took second in discus with a throw of 47.62m.
Naomi Hillen placed second in the women's 3000-meter steeplechase with a time of 11:11.97.
