Olivia Hood finished the weekend with a stat line of 12 at-bats, including seven hits and two doubles, while recording three RBI's and one walk to earn her first career NEC Rookie of the Week. So far this season, the freshman has a .281 batting average with nine hits and two doubles, totaling 11 bases.
Alongside Hood, sophomore Morgan Pasternak won her second consecutive Prime Performer award of the season after another consistent weekend at the plate. At the Battle of the Bay tournament, Pasternak had 11 plate appearances, collecting four RBI's on three hits, including a home run to deep right field against Quinnipiac, tying sophomore Sofia Zielinski for first in the home run category for the Red Flash this season.
The Red Flash are back in action from Feb.27 to March 1 as they participate in the Birds Up Bash at Roadrunner Field in San Antonio, Texas, against UT Arlington, New Mexico State, North Dakota, and the host team, UTSA.
