DAY 1 RESULTS
LEWISBURG, Pa. (April 15, 2011) –
Chris Mills (Pikesville, Md./Western Tech) provided the high point of the Saint Francis University track teams' first day at the Bucknell Bison Outdoor Classic on Friday. The junior distance specialist earned an IC4A qualifying time of 14:26.18 while placing fifth in the 5,000m run.
Senior
Chris Behre (Flanders, NJ/Mount Olive) nearly followed suit in the 1,500m, running a 3:51.34 for seventh place. The IC4A qualifying standard is 3:51.00. Rounding out the men's 1,500m entries,
Nick Gibson (Canonsburg, PA /Canon McMillan ) ran a 4:02.57 while
Andrew McKee (Pittsburgh, PA/Shaler) notched a time of 4:10.50.
Freshman
Chris Fischer (Altoona, Pa./Altoona ) paced Red Flash finishers in the 3,000m steeplechase by running a 9:36.50, with teammate
Adam Mengel (Monaca, Pa./Center) a few strides behind at 9:39.80.
Tim Wertner placed 31st in the 10,000m run with a time of 31:40.12.
Sarah Grossi (Canonsburg, Pa./Canon McMillan) highlighted the women's side, running an 11:06 for an 11th place finish in the 3,000m steeplechase.
Kathryne Kendrick (Armagh, Pa./United) represented field events with a toss of 40.46m in the discus throw and
Rebecca Webster (Lithia, Fla./Newsome) ran the 1,500m in 4:53.24 to win her section.
Saint Francis will conclude competition at the Bison Outdoor Classic on Saturday. Action begins at 9:30 a.m.
