LORETTO, Pa. – The Saint Francis Softball team travels to Maryland on Wednesday for a mid-week doubleheader. The twinbill begins at 3 p.m. at the Maryland Softball Stadium. The game will be broadcast on BTN Plus.

The Red Flash, led by Head Coach
Jennifer Patrick-Swift, is 19-16 overall after splitting a doubleheader at Marshall on April 3. SFU earned a 16-3 win in six innings in game one, but fell 6-3 in game two.

Maryland, coached by Julie Wright, is 15-23 overall and 5-4 in the Big Ten. The Terrapins dropped three games at Illinois last weekend.

SERIES HISTORY
The Red Flash is 5-6 all-time against Maryland, including a 1-0 win over the Terrapins on February 18.
Four of SFU's 10 wins over Power Five conference teams since 2015 have come against Maryland.

LARGEST CONFERENCE WIN STREAK
With Florida State's 1-0 setback at Pitt last Friday, snapping the Seminoles' 36-game ACC win streak, the Red Flash now has the longest conference win streak in Division I.Â
Saint Francis has won 21 straight NEC games dating back to the 2016 season. SFU's last NEC loss came on May 13, 2016 in the NEC Tournament vs. Robert Morris. SFU's last NEC regular season loss came on May 5, 2016 against Central Connecticut State. The Red Flash's win streak includes its perfect 16-0 record in the NEC regular season last year and its 3-0 performance in the NEC Tournament on its way to the program's first NEC title.

PATRICK-SWIFT APPROACHING 300 CAREER WINS
With a sweep over Mount St. Mary's and a win on Tuesday at Marshall, Head Coach
Jennifer Patrick-Swift now has 299 wins in her career, including 206 as the leader of the Red Flash.Â
Since taking over the SFU program in 2012, Patrick-Swift is 206-149, winning 58 percent of the games she has coached at SFU. Patrick-Swift is already the all-time wins leader at SFU and the first coach in program history to reach the 200-win mark.
In Patrick-Swift's tenure, Saint Francis has increased its wins total each of the last six seasons, including last year's program and NEC-record 49 wins. Last year, Patrick-Swift led the Red Flash to its first ever NEC Title, first ever NCAA Tournament appearance and first NCAA Tournament win.

RECORDS WATCH
Several Red Flash already own career records or are approaching career records.Â
Jordan Seneca (Plum, Pa./Plum) already has the SFU career marks for home runs (45), runs (162) and walks (132) and is now approaching the stolen base record. Seneca's 47 career stolen bases are just six behind Kelly Slingwine (2006-09). Seneca also ranks second at SFU with 149 career RBI.
Madison Cabell (Ivor, Va./Southampton) is the RBI leader in program history with 162. Cabell ranks second at SFU with 43 doubles, nine away from the record, and 33 homers. She's also fourth at SFU in hits (175) and walks (84).Â
Cheyenne McKee (DuBois, Pa./DuBois) is second at SFU with 123 runs, while
Sierra McKee (DuBois, Pa./DuBois) is tied for fourth in runs (116) and fifth in walks (74) and stolen bases (35).Â
Hayley Norton (Spring Grove, Pa./Spring Grove) is third all-time in homers (31) and fourth in RBI (117).

POWER SURGE
The Red Flash hit seven homers, by seven different players, in its doubleheader sweep over Mount St. Mary's. SFU added three homers at Marshall. Saint Francis now has 39 homers this season, already the third-most in a season at SFU. SFU ranks 13th in the nation in home runs per game, with 1.11, and 23rd in total homers.
Nine different players have hit at least one homer this year, led by
Madison Cabell (Ivor, Va./Southampton)'s 11. Cabell paces the NEC in homers and RBI (29).Â
Mikayla Bower (Williamsport, Pa./Williamsport),
Sierra McKee (DuBois, Pa./DuBois) and
Hayley Norton (Spring Grove, Pa./Spring Grove) each have five homers, while
Kassidy Troxell (Navarre, Ohio/Perry) has four.Â
On March 31, SFU hit three homers in game one and four in game two. The seven homers were hit by seven different players. The homers in game two came in two back-to-back sequences.Â
Cheyenne McKee (DuBois, Pa./DuBois) and Norton hit back-to-back bombs in the first inning and Bower and
Jordan Seneca (Plum, Pa./Plum) blasted back-to-back dingers in the fourth. It was SFU's first time going back-to-back twice in a game since April 23, 2016 vs. Bryant.

STRONG IN THE CIRCLE
The Red Flash is off to a solid start in the circle this year, with a 2.88 team ERA and a .224 batting average against. SFU's ERA ranks second in the NEC, despite 17 games against RPI Top 100 teams, 15 games against Power Five teams, seven games against ranked opponents and eight games against 2017 NCAA Tournament teams. SFU posted back-to-back shutouts in its NEC opening series vs. Mount St. Mary's.Â
Abby Trahan (Kaplan, La./Kaplan) is 14-11 with a 2.94 ERA in 28 appearances, with 17 complete games and three shutouts. She leads the NEC with 14 wins and ranks second with 120 strikeouts. Trahan's 120 strikeouts already tops her total from the 2017 season. Trahan has eight outings in which she has gone at least seven innings and allowed one or less earned run. Trahan recorded a career-high 14 strikeouts on March 2 against Omaha and took a No-Hitter into the seventh in the second game against the Mavericks.
Adrian Smith (Clairsville, Ohio/St. Clairsville) owns a 2.76 ERA and a 5-5 record, including seven complete games and three shutouts. She has seven outings in which she has gone at least five innings and allowed one or less earned run.

CHALLENGING NON-CON SLATE
The Red Flash began the season with an extremely challenging non-conference slate, which includes 15 games against Power Five programs and 12 against teams who played in the 2017 NCAA Tournament. SFU has already played two games each against current No. 11 Auburn, No. 20 Arkansas and No. 24 Oklahoma State and another game against No. 2 Oklahoma.
The Red Flash owns five wins over current RPI Top 100 opponents, including victories over Drake, Georgia State, Iowa State, Marshall and Coastal Carolina. SFU has played 17 games against the RPI Top 100 and five more against RPI Top 150 teams, with a 5-0 record against teams ranked 100-150. The rest of the NEC has two combined wins against the Top 100. SFU is currently ranked 110th in the RPI, 72 spots ahead of any other NEC team.

SCOUTING THE TERRAPINS
Maryland is 15-23 overall, including a 5-4 mark in the Big Ten. The Terrapins fell in three games at Illinois last weekend, falling 11-0, 7-1 and 20-2.Â

The Terrapins are batting .231 and averaging 2.4 runs as a team. Skylynne Ellazar leads the team in nearly every major offensive category. She is batting .352 with 38 hits, including five doubles and four homers, with 14 RBI, 17 runs and six stolen bases. Bridgette Nordberg has a .292 average with eight doubles, a triple and a homer to go with 13 RBI and 14 runs.

Maryland has a team ERA of 4.17 and allows an opposing batting average of .286. Ryan Denhart owns a team-best 3.09 ERA and a 7-11 record in 30 appearances. In 122.1 innings, she has 68 strikeouts. Sydney Golden is 8-11 with 4.19 ERA in 29 appearances, with 47 strikeouts in 110.1 innings.
