The 1990-91 Men’s Basketball Team, led by head coach Jim Baron, won Saint Francis U’s only Northeast Conference Championship and advanced to the NCAA Tournament where they beat Fordham, 70-64, in the NCAA Play-In Game. The Red Flash finished the season with a 24-8 overall record and a 13-3 mark in Northeast Conference play.

The team had two All-NEC First Team members in Joe Anderson and Mike Iuzzolino. Anderson graduated as SFU’s top scorer in program history with 2,301 points and carried a 19.8 per game average after his four-year career. Iuzzolino ended up being drafted by the Dallas Mavericks in the 1991 NBA Draft.

This team also gave Arizona a run for its money in the NCAA Tournament and lost by just 13 despite being a No. 15 seed against a No. 2 seed. Baron was assisted by coaches Joe Lombardi, John Sanow, and Jim Datka. The roster included Anderson, Iuzzolino, Tom Bennetch, Steve Cloran, Harkeem Dixon, Mike Fink, Deon George, John Hilvert, Jim Horn II, Reggie Lewis, Rob Pasci, Antoine Patterson, Bill Seaward, Willie Smith, and Steve Strachan.
