Kevin Magee’s storied career at Saint Francis is the stuff of legends; Mr. Magee arrived in Loretto in the fall of 1991, a first-year quarterback entering a program that had enjoyed just one winning campaign in the previous 16 seasons. He assumed starting responsibilities immediately, quarterbacking the Red Flash to a 6-3 mark on his way to All-Atlantic Collegiate Football Conference honors. Mr. Magee threw for nine touchdowns and ran for another that season, directing his team to an unblemished 3-0 mark in the ACFC.
A year later, in 1992, Mr. Magee established himself as he premier quarterback in Saint Francis history. He led the Red Flash to an 8-2-1 mark and the school’s first-ever post-season appearance in the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference championship game. The eight victories marked the second-highest win total in a single season in school history.
Mr. Magee established Saint Francis single-season records for passing yardage (2, 056), touchdown passes (19), pass completions (150), passing efficiency (131.39) and total offense (2,039) on his way to ECAC South Player-of-the-Year distinction during that memorable 1992 season. He engineered a Red Flash offense that outscored its opponents, 244-127.
Today, Mr. Magee owns EVERY single-season and career passing record in school history.
Saint Francis College is proud to honor Kevin Magee with induction into the Athletics Hall of Fame on this date, Saturday, December 6, 2003
