Bonnie Kleinschuster brought a multitude of talents, both as a player and as a coach, to Saint Francis College.
A native of Allentown, Pennsylvania, she was a member of the Red Flash women’s basketball, tennis, and volleyball teams. A two-time recipient of the Wallace Award, presented annually to the top female student – athlete, and the winner of the 1978 Whalley Award, which is bestowed upon the top student-athlete, she returned to her alma mater to serve as assistant coach for the women’s basketball, tennis and volleyball teams during the 1978-79 season.
As a member of the women’s basketball team, she hold the Red Flash single- game scoring record with a 40- point performance against Carlow College during the 1976-77 season. She averaged in double figured three straight years.
Her accomplishments take an even greater significance since they came at a time when women’s athletics were in their infancy stages on the intercollegiate level.
