If you were to listen to the Red Flash football or basketball on the radio, Joe Vesnesky was probably calling the game. Vesnesky was the play-by-play voice for nearly four decades.  Vesnesky was the voice of 11 of the 12 Red Flash women’s basketball NEC Championship teams, the 1991 NEC men’s basketball championship, and the 1992 Saint Francis football team that advanced to its first postseason appearance with a bid to the ECAC Championships.  He saw countless student-athletes play for the Red Flash, including 19 women’s and 12 men’s 1,000-point scorers. He started calling games on the local radio station and covered home and away events for the Red Flash. When technology changed with streaming games on the internet, Vesnesky and his longtime partner Bernie Jubeck for basketball were the first to cover all the action on the Red Flash network.
