Tom Crist first graced the Immergrun Golf Course under fellow Athletics Hall of Famer, and former Red Flash men’s golf coach, Bob Hahn as a standout player. He made his mark on the University and the Northeast Conference as a player, and then as a coach by leading the Saint Francis women’s golf team to its first two Northeast Conference titles in 1998 and 1999. Mr. Crist is the only person in Northeast Conference history to win two titles as a competitor and coach a team to two titles.

As a men’s golfer, Mr. Crist won back-to-back NEC invididual titles in 1993-94 and 1994-95. As a junior, he averaged 78.94 per round, and bettered that as a senior with a 75.75 scoring average. Mr. Crist then returned to his alma mater as head coach of the Red Flash women’s program in 1998. He was named the NEC Coach-of-the-Year both seasons in which he oversaw the program, leading the women to the first two of a conference-record seven NEC titles. Additionally, he helped guide former women’es player, Michele Raymond, to the first of her two individual NEC titles with a then-record 158 in 1999. Mr. Crist participated in the National PGA Assistants Championship and the PGA Tour Qualifying School’s second stage in 1997.

Saint Francis College is proud to honor Tom Crist with induction into the Athletics Hall of Fame on this date, Saturday, November 17, 2007.
