When Lexie Chamberlain – Reish arrived at Saint Francis, the school’s softball program was in its infancy. Ms. Chamberlain single-handedly accelerated the maturation process.

After winning six games in 1986 and eight during Ms. Chamberlain’s freshman season in 1987, the Red Flash program came of age in 1988. Ms. Chamberlain led the program to 19 victories that year, establishing single-season school records in batting average (.434), hits (50) and runs scored (40). Two of those single-season marks (batting average and runs scored) still stand.

In 1989, as a junior, Ms. Chamberlain directed the Red Flash to an 18-9 record, doing most of her damage from her pitcher’s position. The hard-throwing right-hander established single-season school records for victories (17), innings pitched (173), and earned – run – average(2.18), pitching Saint Francis to 17 of its 18 wins.

Ms. Chamberlain’s season and career marks still dot the Red Flash record book 13 years after her final appearance on the Saint Francis diamond. She currently ranks second all-time at the University in strikeouts (348) and pitching victories (42) and owns three of the top six single-season strikeout totals in school history. As a hitter, Ms. Chamberlain ranks fourth all-time in runs scored (90) and battering average (.337) and stands fifth in career hits (139).

Saint Francis College is proud to honor Lexi Chamberlain-Reish with induction into the Athletics Hall of Fame on this date, Saturday, December 6, 2003.
