Brian Sell, a 2008 Beijing Olympian, is one of most decorated student-athletes in the history of Saint Francis University.
 
While at SFU, Sell was the 2001 Northeast Conference Outdoor Track & Field Most Valuable Athlete & Track Performer. He won seven NEC individual Track & Field Championships and posted three top-five finishes at the NEC Cross Country Championship, including two victories in both the Indoor 3,000m and the Indoor 5,000m races. In 2001, Sell qualified for the NCAA Cross Country National Championship and the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field 10,000m National Championship, finishing 14th in the qualifier. Upon graduation, he held six Saint Francis track & field records and still owns two of the top marks. He was named SFU’s Eugene & Mary Turano Athletic Award winner in 2001.
 
He also placed third overall in the USA Olympic Team Trials marathon leading up the 2008 Olympics. At the Beijing Games, Sell finished 22nd in the men’s Olympic marathon out of more than 90 competitors, clocking a time of 2:16:07.
