Saint Francis University Athletics Hall of Fame
Led by head coach Kevin Donner and assistant coaches Mario Wilson and Donna Ridgeley, the Saint Francis men’s cross country team will go down as one of the best in the Northeast Conference in any sport.
Student-Athletes on the team included Travis Bailey, Andrew Catton, Terry Ditmars, Kevin Doyle, Michael Hancharik, Matthew Hartman, Wesley Hummel, James Kawalek, Aaron Kelly, Benjamin McCulloch, Michael Murray, Steven Petrosky, Lawrence Quinn, Brian Sell and Travis Singer.
The Red Flash ended the year ranked 26th in the NCAA Division I Rankings and was the Northeast Conference Champions.
Five of its members earned all-conference honors with top-12 finishes in the NEC Championship, led by Brian Sell’s second place finish.
The success didn’t end there as the Red Flash finished third at the NCAA Division I Mid-Atlantic Region Championships behind Georgetown and Villanova, its best finish in program history.
Sell, Doyle, Ditmars and Catton earned All-Mid Atlantic Region honors with Sell’s fourth-place finish leading the way.
If you need further evidence of SFU’s dominance, look at the team’s second place finish at the University of Michigan Wolverine Interregional Invitational. Saint Francis finished ahead of powerhouses Washington, UCLA, Michigan, Purdue, LaSalle, New Hampshire, Florida, James Madison, Tennessee and Pittsburgh.
